Joseph Anton. A Memoir - Salman Rushdie

Salman Rushdie’s autobiography is one the most anticipated book of  this fall.

The author was sentenced to death in 1989 by Iran's leader, Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini who claimed that Rushdie’s The Satanic Verses (published in 1988) is against Islam. As many tried to execute Khomeini’s call and attacks and even murders occurred, Salman Rushdie decided to hide. He’s chosen a nickname from the literary world (Joseph Anton is a mix of writers' names: Joseph Conrad and Anton Chekhov) and started his new life undercover.

The memoir of those years described in Salman Rushdie’s Joseph Anton: A Memoir  is available for all readers from today. So are you brave enough to grab the book?
